Entrance (now known as Old Entrance) was headquarters for the federal Atahbasca Forest Reserve from 1916 to 1930.  None of these original log buildings remain, having been replaced with frame buildings by the Alberta Forest Service which maintained a ranger station at the site until the mid-1960s.
